Dear Mr. President, the white house's unwanted war monger resident. People gawk at my signs and say, "SHOW SOME RESPECT! IT'S PRESIDENT'S DAY" To them I chuckle saying "I can't respect, a man full of hate who I DIDN'T ELECT!" Full of hate to those overseas, who only want freedom from our militaries. I'd much rather deal with problems from one of my own, than to submit to the ones killing my children, destroying my home But don't get it twisted GEORGE! I don't blame the soldiers! You want this war so much, get a gun, go take over! Relieve the BRAVE women and men in the sand. Let's see how your resolve is when it's YOUR life in your hands! Maybe you'd change your rediculous demanding, and gain some insight and cultrual understanding. Separation of church and state, ONE LOVE will heal all, You use God's name for hate! An eye for an eye and the whole world is blind. I know it's what want so we don't see your lies. But thank God not all people are so quick to believe, a man who's lost heart, his mind clouded by greed. So on the Presidents Day we Say, ALEGIANCE TO AMERICA, TAKE GEORGE BUSH AWAY!!! I hope if nothing else You enjoy. Namaste, Ron

Dear Mr. President, I would like to thank you for being the leader of ignorance. When will we start to learn from the past? When? You tell us that we should believe in a higher power. And, I do. But, you tell us that we should only believe in one god, your god. Why can someone tell us who to believe in; isn’t the belief itself that is important, belief that there is something more important then ourselves, that helps us move through the difficult times? Why can’t we believe in god, in the Buddha, in the trees, in the grass, in the birds, in whatever we choose to help us feel significant in this life? You ask us to believe in god, but it is hard when there is so much hurt and destruction in this world. How can we believe that there is something out there higher then us all, when the world is filled with people that only care about themselves? We live in a world were we create wars, were people believe they are better then others, and have the right to tell people how to live, and don’t feel any amount of guilt by killing another person. We send people to kill brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, leaving behind a family to hurt forever. When will we learn from the past? The holocaust killed millions of people. Why, because they were of another faith? Because a group of people felt that they were better then others. Because leaders of our countries don’t care to save the lives of people suffering if it does not affect there own selves, if it does not affect their popularity to get chosen into office again, because after all, that is what is most important, isn’t, the popularity of our leader, and not the pain and suffering and murdering of millions of people, because they do not live in our privileged society. We didn’t learn from the holocaust. We forget how those people were taken from their homes and all of their possessions gone, thrown into a society worse then prison behind the gates of the camps, were humans were less them people. It is something that we don’t talk about anymore and something that we try and pretend didn’t happen. What about the genocide in Africa decades later, millions of people being murdered, and we don’t even hear much about it. We don’t care because they are different from us. We don’t care because it doesn’t affect our lives. Our lives are not affected by families ripped apart by merciless deaths, by groups of people that feel they can take over and kill any one that they feel are not equivalent to them. We only begin to take action, to help others, when it affects ourselves, when the world because aware of the inhumane actions, and that fact that we have done nothing to help, and we begin to feel ashamed because others can see how little we have cared. When did we learn how not to care? There is a war going on today, and most of us don’t even care we are still fighting, that people are still dying. We hear a few things on the television, but we are uninterested, and change the channel to a show that we care more about. I guess it is hard to think how we can care about others when we can’t even care for our own neighbors. Who cares about the children that are beaten by their drunken parents, or the children who don’t even have parents to take care of them? Who cares about the people on the street that have no where else to go? We judge them without knowing their stories. We say that we care, but what do we do. We do nothing to help. It is hard for us to talk about, and hard for us to see, so we avoid it, and go on living our lives. What happened to people, that made them not think about others. What happened to people, that made them not care about the world they live in. We should live in a world, where the air is breathable, and the water is clean. How can we ignore the world that we live in. how can we assume that our own actions don’t matter. Why can’t we create more laws to protect the people, protect the world we live in and make it beautiful again? Make people care again. The world we live in will soon be destroyed. The trees will be cut down, the air and water polluted. Building will be the only thing left. All of the natural beauty gone. The forest will be destroyed, and the animals will die because they will have no homes to live or food to eat. Our food will be processed, because we can no longer grown natural products. We throw away everything, because we are too lazy to recycle, though we know that it can change our lives for the better. We don’t make laws that make it mandatory for people to recycle, because it will force people to take a few more moments a day to realize they are part of a greater world, and not just their own existence. But, what do we care about; What do we care about? When will we be strong enough and have enough belief in something to take action, to make things better. A small step is better then no step. What if we all took small steps together, to create a path for humanity, to make the world better? Please open your eyes, and open your heart to a better society for all of us. Thank you, amie

The Whitehouse Dear Mr. President of the United States of America: Mr. President, This is the most exciting and dangerous time in our history. At a time when very important decisions, that will affect all humanity, are being made daily. You are arguably the most influential person of our time. I would ask only a moment of your time and attention. I will begin by talking to you about something mostly from our monarchial past. Great men of history men that will be remembered for all time Kings, Emperors, Czars, and Caesars. These great men of old were remembered for a variety of reasons Tyranny, Usurpers, Great Victories, Generosity and eras of peace. The most memorable are remembered for the latter. In my mind too be a great king one has to place the interests of his subjects, all his subjects, before those of his own and those close to him. He may even have to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good. I need not remind you a very great king of old has been immortalized for this very act. As a man of incredible influence I would hope that you would want to leave a legacy that honors his memory, and of all those like him. Jesus was the best person a role model for all people who follow. In our world today the gap between the rich and the poor is growing at an alarming rate. Many souls are lost in the gutter on the road to success. Many nations in our modern world still struggle to free themselves from the tyranny of wealthy more powerful nations. This inconsistency that is present in our treatment of our brother and sister nations in this global community is hypocrisy. We value Freedom and Justice in our own nations; yet as global leaders do little or nothing to stop the exploitation of those people who have little or no economic advantage to us. In order to have peace in our time we must have Equality and Justice throughout. There are good honest people in all corners of the globe and they must be united in order to carry out gods plan. Today’s people face many choices more choices than were available at any other time. More than ever before they need guidance to ensure that they make the right choices for the benefit of society as a whole. This guidance may include certain restrictions even if it infringes slightly on what we see as freedom. The ability to decide what is acceptable behavior is not something all people possess; it is up to the intellectual community and the elected leaders to make these decisions for us, for the benefit of mankind. People must not be left to there own vices this kind of destructive behavior is the root of many social problems facing us today. We must take a close discerning look at our own houses and attempt to cure the disease we are infected with. If we are to survive as a species we must take steps to free ourselves from Greed and Gluttony. There is a principle in physics that states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This same model may be applied to our own interactions with one another. If one approaches a situation with anger and violence in there heart, anger and violence they beget. It is said that the harder thing to do and the right thing to do are often one and the same. In order to become a truly great leader one must take the high road of personal sacrifice. Popularity may come and go like the tides but greatness lasts throughout history. The problems facing today’s society can be resolved through peaceful means, but it will take a lot of time patience and sacrifice to end the cycle of violence. Tolerance and acceptance of all peoples will play a crucial role in the pursuit of a future for our children and our children’s children. For them I beg you to be a wise and humble man and approach our destiny with an open and clear mind. What you sew is what you reap. Thank you for your time and attention. Humbly; Timothy

Dear President Bush, I am a thirteen-year-old student at Benjamin Banneker Middle School in Montgomery County Maryland. You will probably throw this latter away along with most of your other critics’ letters but, please listen to what I say and make sure you are doing all you can to ensure the safety of America and the well-being of its citizens. I have a few problems with the way you are running the country and have a few questions to ask you. How will bringing 21,000 more troops into Iraq help anything? Do you really have a strategy for success in Iraq? What are you trying to achieve in Iraq? Why did we go to Iraq in the first place? Did you know that we have been involved in Iraq longer than World War 2? I think that it just ridiculous. Iraq did not attack us or hurt us in any way and we have spent over 300 Billion dollars and countless lives of our troops. Instead of trying to find Al Queda and take down terrorists in other parts of the Middle East we have been stuck in Iraq spending tax payers dollars and our loved ones lives. We need to get out now, not put 20,000 more in. Sincerely, Connor

Dear President George W. Bush, I am a High School teacher; I teach U.S. History to the youth. You are a teacher too; you teach to the masses. I don’t like your lessons, mine are better. I teach about teamwork & communication, diversity & acceptance; I teach that history is a string of various perspectives. You teach that there are only two perspectives; one right and one wrong, one good and one evil. You are not interested in teamwork, nor do you learn from experience. While I, like most teachers, insist that violence is not a problem-solving device, you choose bombs and bullets to resolve your issues. I wish I could teach you for a semester. You’d learn about foreign policy and how different forms of imperialism have been creating new enemies for hundreds of years. You’d learn about racism, sexism, and all the other isms you apparently have trouble with. I could give you detention for misbehaving, and give you bad grades for not following sound instructions. You are a child that I could leave behind. We have some things in common though. Teachers, like Presidents, are hard to remove. But to tell you the truth, if 70% of my class didn’t like me, I’d either change my ways, or I’d find another job. Teachers, like Presidents, are public servants; supposed to dedicate their lives to the citizens of America. But for some reason, even though I do more for this country than you do, no one ever asks me for my autograph. At least we get the same amount of time off a year…hooray for vacations, right? Unfortunately for you, you will be the center of much attention well into the future. When the new history textbooks are written, your chapter will be entitled: The G.W. Years: A Failed State The best I can do for myself is a few Yearbook inscriptions that say; I really enjoyed your class, have a nice summer. If you’ve gotten to the end of this letter and you really don’t understand any of it, form an advisory committee. They can explain it to you and then you can pleasantly ignore me. Oh, one last thing….I know I’m not alone. Sincerely, Ms. Whitney *****

George W. Bush, My name is Magdalen *****. I write this today as a concerned human being, to tell you how I feel about your Administration. I am disturbed, disgusted, outraged and so sad. You and your Administration have set an insanely poor example of what it means to be a leader. And too, an insanely poor example of what it means to be HUMAN! I realize that this letter may mean nothing to you. That concerned men, women and children, may mean nothing to you, as long as you get what you?ve set out for. But I refuse to be silenced. I have a few questions for you: How can you call yourself a Christian while blatantly going against The Ten Commandments? How can you call yourself a Christian while going against everything Jesus Christ stood for? Even those who do not practice Christianity know hypocrisy when they see it. How can you still stand in front of the American people and the World and say you?re fighting The War on Terror, when you have led this Country into a War that does not fight against but, portrays Terrorism? How can you still stand in front of the American people and say that you are protecting us? How can you send more troops to die and to kill in order to fulfill your Administrations GREEDY agenda? How can you believe that we believe your lies? The ones you continue to tell. How can you possibly Believe in what you?re doing? Your words cannot be trusted. Your actions cannot be trusted. You have no respect for Human life. You're blasphemous! You use God in the same way so many people do. You use God to get what you want. If you had any spirituality of any kind you would know that what you view as Power is the strongest form of Weakness. Your insecurity is apparent! Why else would you feel the need to control that which you cannot? I realize that in my lifetime I may never know a Country that I can be proud of but, If you have one ounce of Humanity left in you, One ounce of Dignity, If you could stand up and say “Enough is Enough” and bring the Troops home, If you could be strong instead of weak just once, If you could find it within you to tell us the Truth, Just once, perhaps I could have some respect for you. Haven?t you been a Coward long enough? Tell me, when will the beauty in Individuality, in Culture, in Humanity, in Life?.When will it finally have enough value that you might respect it? Magdalen

Dear Bush I write this to sing to you that out there in Rwanda today a baby daughter turned two, same as in China they say. Yes out there in Iraq today a little daughter is two, also in Afganistan a baby girl is two. I sing this with love and respect because my daughter is to. Gotta hand it to ya - not one day gone by for me had no food to try - me had plenty warm clothes to wear; yes blessed am I to live in dis United Surplus America. Now this should sit good to me seein as how I got one baby my lifes been plentiful the world is good to us in the United States of America. But unfortunately millions of children are cold & hungry, they need clean water. I feel blessed now to know that I can do my best now to be fairica and sharika to stand proud knowing I care as I mingle with the citizens of this blessed nation. And I would feel all United you see but I see across dem borders at all of poverty. What I want is what I need & thats to be united to a golden rule that acts on peace and love because thats how I wanna be schooled. Now I love this hear country; I was born hear, got friends here, families here, & I"ll unite with that because there is love here, I can fill a lake by shed a tear, with peace and love there is no fear. Peace & love is raw energy at its purest form, like fresh produce growing soil to de earth fed by a sun warm, but opposite of raw is war and war brings in cold storm. Now this country that I love act & promote war out there & it bad & it cost all our money when all we need go do is fill dem children belly fulla honey. My daughter is two & skip a few years to the year 2070 what will that year see. I would like to think she'd be 65 & ready for retire peaceful & happy with a family unto a world of unity- with your war this cannot be- how is a two year old daughter of a brother human in Iraq gonna see those comforts under a violent bomb track? Sometimes hard for me feel good knowing I born unto the back of a fat pig of a country, our bellies full, were happy - yet our war snorts are growing and the soldiers are knowing, something else need get going. Bush you are just as much a brother to me, as Clinton, anyone, say Mohammid Ali. I want peace for you as I want for me and everyone- now cant you see these war axe chips in Iraq are cutting this family tree. Trees tall tale of legend folklore, of Pecos Bill & Sesame Street to the laugh night adult comedy horror. Yet unlike shows like South Park you wont be seeing Kenny Bigley & his two (to name just a few) American partners living. He went away like Timmys rooster friends so you could have your Thanksgiving. Now I hear if say we in war now cus dem we fight disturb the peace & dem we fight gonna kill us. I say if thats the case then let it be, if thats the case then why we stand aside & watch while in Rwanda men with machetes slaughter man, woman, and innocent child a half million fold & end misery; if your war is so fair then why werent we there? I saw peaceful hippies mowed down by tanks at Tieneman Square. In Afganistan the taliban destroy ancient Buddhist temples, they woman suppressed, and they refuse music. A poppy gonna grow no matter which way you choose it. These war bombs wont keep them away more than the effort of mushroom music. It takes energy to wage war - it takes energy to sing, & dance, & energy to climb mountains, or ride a bike, & to play music, or emit rainbow light, energy is good to do - if used for the right. Why than we gotta spend this money and energy to create a war fight? Bush your like the leading brand of boxed waffles, but its W-awful. How can you lead us to this sequel? You got ya gun in hand & cant nobody lego your ego. You have got your bombs & guns - I've got a pen & a 2 year old child. If your lookin for a huckleberry well here I am fresh hog wild. Sincerely W.

Dear mister president, I know you probably think why you receive this letter from a strange girl, whom is even not an American citizen. But I send you this to hear from a specific person from an ‘untouched’ country what they think about your war and your president ship. I really do not disapprove you being president, I truly believe that you’ve got good sides and you really wanted to do good for the people. But you’ve let the power take over your thinking and your way of leading a state. This is not just a state, it is a state with a lot of influence all over the world. So use this power to improve the world in a peaceful way. I shall spice this with a few coinciding examples. At first, how could I not mention it, your war in Iraq. Why did you choose this violent way to make them clear that they made the wrong choice with Saddam? Think about what you did to thousands of people living in your country, living in Iraq, living in the whole world. Don’t think everybody in the world thinks of this as it is a show far from their beds. It isn’t! What you did is even worse then the killings Saddam did. You are murdering your own soldiers and they thought it was for the right cause. Of course you are not the only one to blame. You had company in your ‘war against terrorism’. But they admitted they’ve lost, that is the task that I give you to do before the new elections. Admit it, let your soldiers go home and let them carry on with their lives. I also want to point to the dead penalty of Saddam Hussein. Some human rights organisations explicitly asked NOT to extradite him, because dead penalty is against the human rights. And think about it: what is worse being in prison for the rest of your life or being hanged which is over in I don’t know, five minutes? I know what I would choose… Then, now we are talking about prisons, isn’t it time to close Guantanamo, set the internees free or at least give them a fair trial. It is five years now that you locked them up without a reason like dogs in cages. Some of them came out with a story that is rather credible; you’ve probably seen the movie ‘road to Guantanamo'. After seeing the movie I asked myself: how does he do it? How does he sleep at night? I know I couldn’t without a drink or ten or a box of sleep pills. These were just the most common examples. The examples everybody in the whole wide world knows. So my final question to you is: doesn’t it bother you doing harm to so many people who are not only living in your country but all over the world? Don’t you know you’re really hurting people physically and mentally? I'd like to end with a quote my mother always said when I was in a fight with my sister: ‘Do not interfere in another’s backyard if yours is not neat.’ And she is damn right. The bible already told us: ‘he who is without sins will toss the first stone.’ Thanks for reading my letter, I hope you’ll keep this in the back of your head and you’ll do something about these injustices. ONE WORLD ONE PROMISE Marthe

| Dear President Bush, I recently heard a funny joke you might appreciate: What's the difference between the Viet Nam War and the current Iraq War? George W. Bush had a plan to get out of Viet Nam. Get it? You know because you never actually served in Viet Nam (although you wouldn't know it by the way you play dress up and wear your bomber jacket and land on battleships for photo ops and what not). But you can't seem to get our young men and women out of Iraq, in fact, you want to send more. Now listen George, I want to speak to you from the heart. I think I'm speaking on behalf of a lot of my fellow Americans when I say the following. I want you to do two things for us. Number one, I want you to start talking to us like grown ups. We can handle it, I swear we can. If I hear you say anything else relating our involvement in Iraq to 9/11 or our freedom, I…I, well, I don't know what I'll do but it's not going to be pretty. I'm sure you're familiar with the Project for the New American Century, but I'll just refresh your memory in case you forgot. PNAC is a non-profit that was started in 1997 by some of your friends who viewed themselves in exile after seven years of the Clinton Administration. I think you're familiar with some of the former members: your brother Jeb, your Vice President Dick Cheney, his disgraced top aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, your former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, his Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, your former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, and many more. These are, dare I say, your friends Mr. Bush. Anyway, these gents got together with some of your other friends and laid out a statement of principles for PNAC which stated: "As the 20th century draws to a close, the United States stands as the world's pre-eminent power. Having led the West to victory in the Cold War, America faces an opportunity and a challenge: Does the United States have the vision to build upon the achievements of past decades? Does the United States have the resolve to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests?" Now first of all, call me crazy, I've been called worse, but don't you think that a lot of people in the world hate America now, not because of our freedom, but because the people running our government openly want to "shape a new century favorable to American principles and interest?" So please, please, no more talk of them hating our freedom and you protecting it…we're grown ups sir. These same folks urged President Clinton in a letter written in 1998 to invade Iraq. They also published a paper in 2000 entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses," in which they endorsed invading Iraq and stated that, " retaining forward-based forces in the region would still be an essential element in U.S. security strategy given the longstanding American interests in the region." What longstanding interests do you suppose they were talking about Mr. Bush? I'll give you a few hints, it's black, Americans are addicted to it, and it's not Oprah. And finally Mr. Bush, my second request. Do not send 21,500 more Americans to Iraq. Listen to the generals, your Congress, and the American people. Further, please bring home the rest of our troops sir. I can't assure you that Iraq won't collapse into civil war, and I can't assure you it won't become a hot bed for Al-Qaeda activity, but I can assure you of one thing Mr. Bush. While it may be hard for extremists to recruit young Arabs to come across an ocean and attack Americans, as long as you have a militant representation of our country in their backyard, they will never, ever, run out of young Arabs ready to take up arms against us. There is no end to this nightmare you have brought to the American and Iraqi people while our military remains in Iraq. Of this much I can assure you. Bring them home sir and stop lying to us. | Dear Mr. President, My name is Katrina, and I’m a 13 year old eight grader at Benjamin Banneker Middle School in Burtonsville, MD. I know that you have a hard job, but I have some things that I’d like you to think about and look at as far as things that I think would really help our country. For instance, I think that we need to make sure that everyone has a job, and we need to reduce the cost of things so that they aren’t so expensive. Right now, things are too expensive for people who aren’t as fortunate as you and me, and that makes it hard for them to survive and stay healthy. I also think that we need to stop the wars. There’s too much fighting, and too many soldiers and people are being killed, and it’s really hard for us kids to see the point to the war anymore. I really think that we need to make peace with other countries, and help them to end their disagreements with each other. One idea would be what we do in our school: when kids or teachers or anyone has a disagreement, we make sure to get everyone together to talk about it. Maybe the leaders of the countries could do that, too. I would also like our country to pay even more attention to our environment, because I really think that there’s too much pollution. If the pollution keeps going like it is, then when I get older there won’t be enough resources for everyone. I try to do my part, by recycling and reusing things, but if everyone doesn’t work together, this damage to our environment will continue and I’m afraid that my generation will have to suffer the consequences. And finally, when it comes to education, I feel that we should “go back to the basics,” and teach kids the things that they really need to know in life, not try to know everything. Different kids have different talents. We should try to help them find their strengths and give them the opportunity to improve and grow in those areas. I hope you would be willing to take my thoughts and ideas into consideration. I’m sure you’re really busy with your job, but I do appreciate you taking the time to hear how I feel. | As President you have the responsibility,
not only to the people but to the Earth herself. The whole web of life. Instead of fueling the suffering that goes hand in hand with war. You should be funding research into harnessing the energy of the oceans, putting an end to world hunger and climate change. I understand that you have lost your way, evermore consumed by lust for more, control, money, power...just as a vampire lusts for blood. It is all about money for you..But money cannot buy you true peace and joy...You certainly cannot eat it ! I believe we should be teaching empathy, compassion, tolerance, coexistence...With this We Can create Peace and Harmony.....Working together for a greater good that benefits All Living Things. To neglect the destruction of Our Earth, is to lead us All into mass destruction...Total annihilation...! By keeping the wars thriving you create distractions..and distracted so the people cannot see with any clarity All the layers of deception...Atrocities continue unnoticed I say no more standing by and watching the endless cycle of suffering at the hands of a man we gave power too...We too can take that power back, giving it back to the people..But it is not through revenge energy that we will put an end to your plans of world domination, but through our love for this very Earth that gives us Life. We feel no anger for we feel no fear and without fear you have no control. People rise up through the fear And join hands, extend our roots deep into the earth...And end the suffering.. What other point is there to our existence ?.... Magda |

| How could you betray your own country Mr. President. In March
of '81 John Hinckley shot president Reagan, your brother Neal had to cancel
a dinner engagement with John Hinckley’s brother Scott, and your dad
(a family friend of the Hinckley's a well) decided that there were no other
interests involved in the shooting and that John Hinckley acted completely
alone. How can a prime suspect dictate what our justice department should
investigate, especially when the prime suspect is a political criminal?!
Eleven short months later in February ‘82 the president uncharacteristically removed Iraq off of the Terrorist County list. Billions of US dollars, materials and “Weapons of Mass Destruction” were funneled to Iraq, some of which were used to aid in the murder of Kurds. Your dad aided Hussein right up until August of 91. Your dad and republican predecessors also funneled Millions of US dollars, weapons, training etc. to Osama Bin Laden and hundreds of thousands to the Taliban. In fact you predecessors and some of your associates wanted to be involved in building a natural gas pipeline in Afghanistan from Turkmenistan to Pakistan. Meanwhile, your dad, republican predecessors and other associates took their money and billions of Saudi Arabian dollars to invest in the US war machine. Over a year before 911, the Saudi National Mohammed Atta and others were identified in this country by a military intelligence unit “Able Danger”, however Atta and others were protected by the federal government from any legal action or any action what-so-ever. When you took office there were intelligence personnel that tried for several months to brief you and have you take action against Osama, but you would not let it to go to committee. In August of 2001, you received a briefing regarding terrorists use of planes as weapons, but still no action from you, you went fishing. On the day of 911, the US was in a virtual military “Stand Down”. On that clear day ZERO military training flights were scheduled when usually there are dozens along the eastern seaboard. No military action was taken when the planes were initially reported to be off course, and for a LONG duration after it was learned that there was in fact a hijack. Even after the military was allowed to take the air, they traveled at “one quarter speed” towards NYC. You Mr. President went to the Justice department and dictated to them that there will be no investigation regarding any fault or assistance to the terrorists from within the U.S. How can a prime suspect dictate what our justice department should investigate, especially when the prime suspect is a political criminal?! Most all the terrorist were Saudi’s, however, you decide to attack Afghanistan and the Taliban while there was NO information that the Taliban or any AfghanistanR17;s were involved in 911. You lied about the involvement of Hussein with 911 and lied about the WMD, and you started a war in Iraq for the sole purpose of making billions for those who invested in the war machine, and for the removal of our freedoms and our soldiers lives. The true American patriots did not buy the “Jody Foster Gig”, and did not buy the “Big Bad Taliban Gig”, or the “WMD Gig”. We know that you and other U.S. citizens were involved in the 911 attacks for the sole purpose of personal monetary gain. You are hereby notified that the true American patriots will utilize the U.S. Justice System to bring you and your cohorts to trial. This is not an idle threat, this is Truth, Justice & Honor in it’s purest form. You will be investigated, charged, indicted, brought to trial, convicted, sentenced and punished by the Justice System on the United States of America, and its good people. I leave you with the words of a true American patriot, which shows our resolve, passion, and alliance with the Law and also with Truth, Dignity and Honor. We will not rest till you are in jail. In order for “Peace to Come”, “Justice must be Served”! Sincerely Don |

I have a dream I have a dream that the world will have peace one day. That children in Iraq will not have to run from explosions in their villages. That their skies will be free from falling bombs and kids will fall asleep without fear. I have a dream that people will not try solve problems with war. Instead they will listen to each other’s ideas and find solutions to problems that do not include weapons. I have a dream that people around the world will share their resources and not fight over them. They will not be selfish or greedy and will care about other people. I have a dream that everywhere in the world people both young and old will live safely. By Quinn

A Letter to the President. I would like to exchange your new America for the one I used to have. My complaint is that your America doesn't fit, it doesn't come in enough colors, and it doesn't work nearly as well as the original model. Your America isn't roomy enough for freedom, and liberty. Your America doesn't encourage freedom of speech, freedom of the press, or freedom of religion. Your America doesn't offer sufficient public health or public education to improve the general public welfare. Your America is no longer equipped with the writ of Habeas Corpus, the right to a fair trial, or protection from unlawful search and seizure. Your America is so sub-standard as compared to the original model that I believe you would call the US Constitution a "Terrorist" manifesto... that is... if there was enough left of it to call anything... but the words "of the people, by the people, and for the people" are no longer part of the warranty that comes with your America. You make up catchy slogans about a child "Left Behind"... and you talk a whole lot of talk about "Terror" ... and you told some mighty tall tales about "weapons of mass destruction".... only to weave those lies into the security blanket that smothered democracy. Your "War on Terror" is just another color-coded play-on-words designed to divide the citizens of your America into opposing each other instead of the puppeteers pulling the strings of your administration. You are pretty quick to point a finger at the label "liberal" as though it means something bad... but I was educated before you got busy making sure no child was left behind, so I know how to read a dictionary. The dictionary says "liberal" means "free" (among many other things like "tolerant", "broadminded", and "generous"). No wonder you don't like it. "Free" used to be the part of America I liked best though... so now I intend to trade in your version of America for the one I had before you and your corrupt cronies stripped it bare of the very ideals that made this country the land of the free. I once believed I could do this was through the electoral process, but, I've seen the process in action in your America and it's pretty clear that it's broken beyond repair, buried in an avalanche of "hanging chads", drowned in a digital sea of Diebold-programmed discrepancies . In the hapless, helpless, hopeless exercise of negative "choice" that voting in America has become our selection has been reduced to "the lesser of evils" because the elected officials of your America are too busy serving the corporations that pay for their campaigns to concern themselves much with acting in the best interests of the people they are supposed to represent. It has never been more clear than under your administration that we have substituted a government of the people in exchange for corporate rule through a puppet presidency. While it was a deep disappointment to learn that the American government was simply the rule of big corporations through a presidential pawn, it did remind me of one of the fundamental facts about my rights. No political party, government, or presidency can "give" me my rights. My rights are something that I must assert for myself. This is probably the point where your buddy Mr. Murdoch manipulates the media outlets he owns with his weapons of mass-deception to whip up a phony frenzy about the dangerous revolution that calls itself freedom ... to keep the voters scared... to keep the voters "in line". Oh yes, I expect that the media will have a field day trying to spin this, but, your media-mogul buddies will be wrong. The revolution will not be televised. You can keep the next seasons of "Survivor" or "American Idol", and you are more than welcome to all the helpings of "Deal or No Deal" you can stomach. The revolution will come from the streets, as it always has, in the songs of the poets and the laughter of children. It will come from the love of the mothers and the strength of the fathers. It will come from the unity of the sisters and the brothers. The revolution will stand up. The revolution will speak up. The revolution will move up. The revolution will remember what freedom really means... and I will be a part of it. I don't need another miserable marionette eager to raid the public coffers for the benefit of Halliburton or Enron. I don't want corporate kingships who dare to decree what I am allowed to want. I know what I want. I want leaders who are not afraid to allow the citizens of this country to come together in unity. I want leaders strong enough to put aside personal agendas for profit. I want leaders smart enough to understand that only the freedoms we choose for ourselves are worth dying for and sending others to die for. I want leaders who can say "We, the People" and really mean it. We, the people, want new leaders, and what's more, we know where to find them.... right here in the mirror... and the faces we see in the mirror don't want your America anymore. Sincerely, Another unsatisfied customer.

Dear Bush, Dude you are crazy. You are killing people who have every reason to live. If you have no way of controlling your actions then why even bother to be president. Your sending poor innocent people to the war and even women now. I truly believe if you had any heart at all you would listen to the people of the united states and not your crazy thoughts. I swear sometimes I look at the news or news paper and since I am still in middles school I hear alott about the cruel things you are doing and it is heartless, unfair and irresponsible. I think you should go too war since you love it so much join the action. You don't think it is right to send your family but look at all these people who send their children for the country thats right the country not for YOU. So do me a favor get it through your head and too can be a life saver. Think of peaceful communications. War is not the answer. Peace to the world and your spirit and mind Tianna ( from rincon vally charter middle school)

Dear Mr. President Bush, My name is Reuben and I am a recent graduate of college (2004). I now work at a University in Oakland, CA. I feel that while the war is a very hot topic among college student... there are things being left out. There are things that you and the administration arn't telling the students of today. One thing I realized while being in college was that it isn’t just about learning and getting a degree. It’s also about our growth as human beings. As citizens of one of the richest countries in the world, we cannot sit back and watch our world soar by and continue to suffer the injustices and inequalities. Students have the ability to make a difference and they must feel empowered to go out and do so! There are many crucial issues facing our country, and all need their attention. It is imperative that they are aware of the important statistics and issues facing America. One concerning issue continues to be HIV. Currently more than 20 million people have died from AIDS and an estimated 40 million people around the world are living with HIV/AIDS. Among them 2.5 million under the age of 15. Far too many people living with HIV in the United States are falling between the cracks and being denied the treatment and essential services they need. The new generation must work together and feel empowerd to find a cure. Another issue is the environment. The American Lung Association estimates that 137 million people live in areas where the air is unhealthy to breathe. Power plants are the nation’s single largest source of air pollution. They are responsible for approximately 60% of the nation’s sulfur dioxide emissions. Sulfur dioxide transforms into small partials which can cause respiratory symptoms, disease and sometimes death. The new generation must work together and feel empowerd to make our planet safe to live on. A major concern of mine is education vs. corrections. I am from Oakland, California and in my home state in the last ten years, Corrections increased 60% while higher education decreased by 3%. In this same period, 21 new prisons have been built, while only one California State University has been constructed. Are we building for a better future by spending money on prisons? Or should we be spending it on colleges and education? The new generation must work together and feel empowerd to put money into education... not incarceration! Last, I am reminded of homelessness. On any given night in the United States, it is etimated that at least 745,000 individuals are without shelter. Between 25 and 33% of homeless people are families with children. Thirty two million people live below the poverty line, and the numbers continue to increase. At this same time, the 400 wealthiest Americans have seen their salaries double in the last few years. The new generation can put an end to this and they will! Even if these aren’t issues that you feel are at the top of your list, young adults must feel empowered to take on problems that they feel are important, whatever they may be. When I was younger, I never really looked into the future of our country, but now, I see how vital it is to become involved. It may seem that if one person doesn’t vote in the elections, or doesn’t stand up for what they believe in, it wont make a difference, but the fact is, that is does make a difference. For example, when I was in high school I attended a Leadership Conference in DC and besides having court side seats for the impeachment hearings on Capitol Hill, I visited my California congresswoman Barbara Lee. I am sure you may know that Barbara Lee was the courageous congresswoman who cast the lone vote against your use of force resolution in Iraq. She alone stood up in front of Congress on September 14th, 2001 and said, "As we act, let us not become the evil that we deplore." The power lies in our hands and we are not going to sit down anymore! We are going to stand up and fight! Anthropologist Margaret Mead once said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world, indeed it’s the only thing that ever has." One person has the power to start and movement and it is important for you to remember that.... Looking into the future, one of the challenges that new students face is finding a job in our uncertain economy. Will Ferrel, from Saturday Night Live said it best when he spoke at the Harvard graduation. He said, "The chances of landing a good well paying decent job are about as good as finding weapons of mass destruction in the Iraqi desert." Yea, I am sure you can relate to that Mr. Bush...... We shouldn't lie to our youth and tell them it's easy and the economy is growing ... when infact its hard as fuck to find work around here... This new generation needs you to support them, guide them, lead them... thats what being a president is all about.... so stand up, get your hand out of your pants and begin to lead us in a positive direction ... america needs it.... our youth need it....our country needs it.... peace, Reuben

Between Iraq and a Hard Place Four years ago, when you chose to invade We hit the streets in protest, a desperate peace parade We weren’t duped by the weapons We weren’t fooled by the hype We knew Sadam was “our bastard” And al-Qaida was out of sight. Yet in response to the millions, what did you say? “I don’t pay heed to focus groups; I’m doing it my way.” Things have gone from bad to worse, from day one till today The only mission you’ve accomplished is death and disarray Iraqis plead for justice Mothers pray for peace Children ask for bread and milk Dying for relief. Yet in response to their anguish, what do you say? “I am the war-president; I’m doing it my way.” Now you’re calling for a surge, and thousands more to die Ignoring all the best advice the best minds can provide The country wants the troops home, but Iraq is in distress We’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t You made this terrible mess. Yet in response to the nation, what do you say? “I am the decider; I’m doing it my way.” You only want to “win” in order to save face You and your shameful policies are a national disgrace You’re so far from presidential We can’t look you in the eye Our thoughts irreverential We can’t wait to say goodbye. And in response to you, Mr. President, what do we say? “You’re an all-time low-ratings lame-duck loser; We’re doing it OUR way!” Bring the Troops Home Now Written and Submitted by Wendy

Dear Bush and Associates (Democrats, Green Party), See, all of you Rich beings in black suits Who could count every star and still have more money I don?t want this war for any reason Because while I have a lot of possessions and privilege to lose. I will be so glad to give them all up, If it will stop this war, and the next one too. Maybe, money is like a knife hidden close As long as you have that 100 billion No harm will come to me and mine, you think. Even as other fathers are sentenced to death, innocent. Maybe you the rich and powerful Can?t understand what I feel And maybe compassion and justice are the dreams of naive people Who just do not understand foreign policy. But I know violence committed today Will breathe death upon tomorrow Money might keep you from most suffering But eventually a misguided missile will collide with Your white house It will break into all the lies and bullets it was built of And your money and arrogance will burn Then you will be like every other soul, who has always had the choice To follow the orders to ignore suffering, or to feel the pulse of life in others And you who own everything that can be named Have the power to destroy me Make me watch my parent?s suffer to help me live Order my brother or me to get ready to kill far away I know you can torture Those just like me Everywhere And in the light of coward?s eyes There will be no punishment. Burn the land and people And they are ash and memories Money and power Can bring nuclear annihilation But they can?t create justice, peace, or security That can only come when each child born tomorrow or yesterday Has food, forests and school, Warmth from the sun and a parent. And a world that will respect them enough To give them a chance to feel hope for their future ~Sage

Dear George: Even before 9/11 reinvigorated your shaky tenure, your administration’s policies were a show of extremism with blatant disregard for campaign promises. For some reason you were often on holidays during that time. The sudden suicide attacks and mass killing of so-called everyday citizens (actually, a select group of people working in the financial and military command hubs of the country) certainly upped the rhythm. Overnight a nation of gullible centrists rallied to your side, giving you a chance to be their leader in troubled times. The record shows you had no idea what to do when you were first informed of the attacks. But the New York dust would soon settle to show your advisers painting a picture from which you could only profit handsomely. A series of major lies followed which you by and large got away with, as you did with your fraudulent accession to the white house: 1. there had been no specific warning of the attacks. 2. there were links between Iraq and al Qaeda. 3. weapons of mass destruction existed in Iraq. In a masterful act of propaganda, you focused on the presence of WMDs in Iraq, taking for granted that the correct response would be attack if such weapons were present. No debate took place on whether a defensive strategy might be more appropriate than preventive war. The refining of the existing surveillance and defensive system would have been a more peaceful option costing far less on the human and financial front. If regime change really became necessary, then deploying spies and/or commandos was the logical move. But you clearly had your mind set on something bigger. Your all-time pal the antichrist Donald Rumsfeld insisted that a small force could take care of business and get out quickly. That didn’t work out, and your bid to send more troops has run into opposition because Americans don’t want to see Americans killed. But what about the 60,000 reported Iraqi civilian dead and nearly 4 million refugees, amounting to a refugee crisis on the scale of when Palestine was turned over to the Israelis in 1948? The vast majority of Americans are only lamenting casualties on their side, even though the US started the war. Sounds all too much like Vietnam. But as General Tommy Franks ominously pointed out, “we don’t do body counts.” War on terrorism? Who are you kidding? Oil wasn’t so central a motive either this time; this war served your own political interest (it won you re-election), that of your business circle (it won them contracts), that of the arms industry (more contracts), that of the steel industry (a needed boost in a crisis), and that of the military (everyone needs a raison d’être). Strategically, the war served to maintain and justify a US presence in the Middle East so as to retain local influence and strike capability, for instance to prepare a possible attack on Iran. But as a result of your policies the entire world, including the US, is less safe than ever. Following your acts of aggression, general disdain and suspiciousness directed at this country have increased. And animosity toward the US has never been so acute from the quarters of dirt-poor young Muslims with nothing to lose including their own lives. We know Bin Laden has no problem finding recruits these days; indeed he has just authorized a previously unrelated Algerian extremist group to call itself Al-Qaeda in Algeria. Let’s sing it loud: “US out of Iraq!” It’s wishful thinking but the best that can happen for Iraq now is unconditional and immediate US withdrawal coinciding with the deployment of a United Nations peacekeeping force excluding any of the governments that were allied to the US during and after the invasion. Iraq, like Kosovo, needs to become a protectorate for an indefinite amount of time, obviously a far better short term option for Iraqis than having either the US or warring Shiites or Sunnis run the show. The UN, which opposed the war but could not impose its will on your “coalition”, may regain credibility in the process. Despite Republican rants on the organization, this would be a good thing for the world. Decent people prefer to see UN Peacekeepers than the US military in conflict zones. For all its faults, the UN isn’t in the business of starting wars… George, by comparison to you and to Donald, Condoleezza and the rest of your people, Bin Laden is cuddly as a teddy bear. You are mass murderers. Your crusade must not continue in any way: get out of Iraq now. Let the Iraqi people go and return to their homes. This is no Bonanza, hang your cowboy hat. Take a trip to New Orleans, check out the flood damage, go to a voodoo priest, get exorcised. Repent now and spread some peace or decent folks will remember you and your cronies as the bunch of murderous liars and thieves that you are. JF

Dear President Bush, Happy "President's" Day. Or Dictator's Day, as it were. I just wanted to take a moment to write and let you know how many ways you have impacted my life since you have been in office. For one thing, your oil war in Iraq has strengthened my resolve that dictators definitely should NOT be aloud to be president. I wasn't sure at first, but after 6 years with your regime, I am totally convinced that dictators=BAD. With your help, I have come to realize that human lives are worth far more than oil. A better way to have handled the situation would have been to have a "Meeting of the Minds"; bring religious and spiritual leaders from all over the world together to get down to brass tacks. I think that once there is understanding among all people at the spiritual level, then peace will follow. Oil does not work into the equation anywhere. You have introduced the word "Nukeular" which is great for our nation's children, because they need educated role models who use vocabulary words grammatically and phonetically correctly. Because of you, I have come up with a new game, which is very frugal and quite fun to play on Easter. Instead of an Easter-egg hunt, I thought "Weapons of Mass Destruction Hunt" would be a little more poignant. Because there is nothing to hunt, and the entire scenario is based on lies, I just tell the children to start searching---but there really are no eggs!! This, I am sure will save me a lot of money on eggs over the next few years. Thanks again for that one!!! If anything, the kids will learn how to take the disappointments year after year in stride, as so many people of the world have during your regime. I have learned that being "The Decider" means that the president can simply put blinders on to the fact that he is representing an entire country, and do whatever he feels may benefit his interests, even if the only ones backing him are his wife, and pet dog. I have learned that the word "escalation" actually means more casualties. I have learned that truly ANYONE CAN be president! Lastly, I would like to part with a few words spoken by Mahatma Gandhi: "When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always." If he were alive today, I am sure that he would be referring to you, Mr. Bush. Looking forward to 2008, Jennifer

Dear Mr. President, Or do you prefer commander in chief? But what, may I ask, does your chiefdom command? Yes…it's easy to stand behind a podium in your crisp blue suit and think your voice decides the fate of the world. But you have forgotten two things. First, there are powers greater than you that have more potency and brilliance than all the money, troops, oil and bombs in the world. What is this power you ask? You want some?....This is the power of love. What is love? Some say love is God, but even you have tried to divide that. No…love is not what you think. Most likely it is how you came to be in the belly of your own mother. Love is the rhythm of a beating heart….thump, thump…thump, thump…thump, thump. It is the soft grass beneath your bare feet, the tender flesh of snail on dark earth. Love is a warm beam of light, the ant crawling on my bare leg. Love is a dove cooing in the early morning mist, hot dark chocolate dripping over a strawberry. Love is a sip of herbal tea, a piece of driftwood drying in the afternoon sun. Love is a wisp of smoke from an evening campfire, the ecstatic state of union on a Sunday morning. Love is the migration of whales, the slow but steady crawl of a sandune over time. Love is the presence of peace and the sound silence. Love is an Iraqi and an American child playing hopscotch, as effervescent giggles cascade from their wide mouthed smiles. Love is in the eyes of a homeless man I saw yesterday and in the arms of my grandmother I will see tomorrow. And Yes…It is even in you…But sadly...you have forgotten…You have forgotten the power of love. You have forgotten that it even exists!! But we WILL NOT and we CANNOT stand by your side and watch you destroy the world in a perpetual sate of amnesia that has become impregnated with fear and hatred. We have the ability to empower ourselves to love, despite your mind and the wicked games it plays with war, and the great mother Earth as your playing field. There is hope…hope that lies beneath...in the belly of the heart. The capacity to see what the heart does is the hope that keeps us alive…the key to our survival. When we surrender to the rhythm of the ancient wisdom that connects us all…you will see. You will see that the power you think you have is but a mental construct, designed to make you feel important in the cave of your very…very…very, small and insignificant mind. To turn your back on anyone is to betray yourself. To destroy the Earth is to kill yourself. So no matter who you think you are, or who you think someone or something else to be....think again. You are impermanent…love, however, is not. Oh, and the second thing you forgot…that underneath that blue suit you wear, just as you came into this world and so shall you depart…You are buck naked! Peace Willow

To whom it may or may not concern, I'm sorry Hierarchy I can't share today's views because the life that I want is the life that I choose, as long as I follow my heart I know I won't lose. Oh and by the way I refuse to give into your think you are but accomplish nothing ways, not right now nor in the next few days. The end of your reign of war is near. We can all see it, it's so clear but so many of you hide behind OUR flag from that fear in hopes that it'll disappear. Well I hope over the next few lines you shed at least one tear while you send more of our non-believing peers to die. I ask you to hold one lonely mother and feel the war cry. You exploit young men's natural instinct to fight when their scared. When the key in this situation is for them to become instra-mentally prepared. And I was wondering do you know what happen to those good old American ways, the ones long before the industrial haze and just a little before the cowboys days when people here did only what they needed to survive there wasn't any greed on which to thrive. Now people are only half alive or half dead, that depends on if your an optimist or a pessimist. Me I'm kinda like a realist with a twist ... oops didn't mean to label myself when others do it makes me pissed! I try to look at life from outside the circle but sometimes i catch myself thinking inside the box. When i do that I hear the never ending sound of ticking clocks which controls our lives like Pelican bays shackles and locks. Now if we all live peacefully and consciously ( yes that includes you too ) there would be no need for cell blocks. We could all stand united, stare straight and long into the deceiving eyes of wrong and let it be know that with words of wisdom and understanding is the best way the fight and the easiest with power and spite. P.S. Please come down and stand with us we'll never achieve true peace without communication and support form one another. ~Colin

Dear Mr. President, Here is a poem I hope you will consider. How Many More? On March 20, 2003 the bombs started to land You said it was time to take a firm stand Against Saddam, Terrorism and WMD’s But it’s the people that suffer please, won’t you see The children, the mothers, the babies that cry This is not the way that I’d want to die It’s become a place where people fear to be You had to go in secret to share some Thanksgiving glee But the people that live there weren’t given this selection Now they need to fend for their own protection The generators in the streets never stop their buzz And the people all try to remember what was When they had their security, their streets, and their life And their country wasn’t ablaze with sectarian strife The promise was made for freedom to all But there are now curfews even though the statue did fall Its time to let the Iraqi people control their own destiny And realize that this will be the only true victory Because no more bombs, troops or guns can ever achieve What the human spirit can if just you believe So you cannot go back, what has passed is now past But we must change our actions and change them quite fast Because in this world of brothers and sisters WE ARE NOT ALONE And as for the soldiers IT’S TIME TO COME HOME ~Andrew

Dear Mr. President, In response to your public speech on January 10th, and your State of the Union address on January 23rd, I can agree with you on only one point. Our children DO deserve Peace, Security, Hope, and an Opportunity! So can you please enlighten me on exactly why you continue to bomb away our future?? There is NO Peace in sending more troops to war! There is NO Security in border patrols in a world full of hate! The only Hope we have is in a Military withdrawl or Impeachment! And as far as an Opportunity,??? I am afraid to ask what your definition of opportunity is!? Explotation? Corporate Greed? Stock Put Options? How do you suggest we teach our children about love, compassion, and tolerance, in a world full of anger, corruption, and violence? Who knew it was possible to shine shit? I compliment you on this skill that you have mastered. The fact that you can address the Nation and try to persuade Congress to support your war, while you sugar coat the whole thing with delusional promises of Medicare reform and Tax deductions for Health Insurance, is appalling! Offering Americans deductions for medical costs only benefits people who already can afford insurance and are looking forward to the write off! It does not address the issue that millions of Americans cannot afford to puchase health coverage. If you really wanted to help people you would offer taxpayers in the 10-15% tax bracket a refundable tax credit, big difference!! Here's an idea, ever consider regulating the outrageous prices pharmacutical companies charge? I seriously doubt that will ever happen, and exactly how does your rhetoric justify this war? You say, "We can't abandon these people now," but it sure the hell seems to me that you have abandoned the American people!! 400 Billion dollars could have been spent more effectively. Could you imagine if we had spent that much money on reusable energy? We could have totally eliminated dependency on Iraqi oil! But, I don't think that you share my dream of a government that is for the people and not just for a profit. Curiously, what color is the sky in the world you live in? You talk about bringing democracy into the Middle East, how can we hope for democracy in another part of the world when it doesn't even exist in our own country? Democracy DIED the day you took office and our votes Did Not Count!!! So, when you say; "We need to stand for Freedom and end this Cycle of Violence," I reply; "I proudly stand for Freedom and the First Amendment, and I am thankful for the opportunity to express my opinion to you." As far as ending this "Cycle of Violence" you speak of, I look forward to January 20th 2009! Sincerely, Julieanne

| To, Mr George Bush Hi my name is Katie. Your response to my last letter was extremely annoying and I hope that you will take time to at least read this one. Since it was in color pencil you assumed I was a child and thanked me for being interested in my president. What if I wore a child... asking for help? It would show you do not care, for the child to receive a picture of you in response don’t ya think. With presidents day coming we should review you as a president and honestly I don’t think you are worth celebrating. You have done way to many things to list without me beginning to cry. I work with children and I have lost a job at an amazing place you should check out a program called Even Start due to the funding cut shortly after the no child left a dime {Ops} behind. Mr bush do you care about Mother Earth??? If you answeared yes PLEASE start showing it because right now I don’t think you do. Our mama is sick and you choices are making her sicker. I have sat in a an old growth tree, I know how often the white house is called with reasons to protect OLD growth forests If you truly love what you call god it is time to respect his creations. As for the war I am no longer as aware as I was a year ago I needed my apatite back again to say the least. JUST STOP IT BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!!! If I wore President instead of using ungodly amounts of money on war it would be going towards in my view MUCH MORE important things like making our country self sustained so Mother Earth may heal from our past mistakes. Also I would have our children taught in a Varity of ways not just in-between walls, it would be mandatory that every school has to take a field trip into nature where there are No building to be seen!! There are many other things I would do but that is irrelevant at this time. The children are truly the future. Please sit with that for awhile and ask your self deep in you heart what is best for every one, what would God, Allah, Jah, Great Spirit, Gud, Shen, Brahman, Shen, Ekam (there all the same) what would GOD like? | Children For Peace Imagine a school where love is the rule. Can you see a mine where peace is the jewel? Imagine a school where love is the rule. Can you see a mine where peace is the jewel? Let's open a school called The Academy of Children for Peace. Let's all open a school for children to cultivate peace. We can teach loving-kindness. We can open our hearts. The children will teach us to keep them open, open to all other parts of life, of love and law. Imagine a school where love is the rule. Can you see a mine where peace is the jewel? Let's enroll our president, seat him in the back of the class. The children will teach him and if he finds peace in his heart of hearts he will pass. At nap time we'll cuddle him, he'll find delight in things other than war. Then he'll pass on his post to the girl with the most peace in her heart and love to the core. Imagine a school where love is the rule. Can you see a mine where peace is the jewel? Imagine a school where love is the rule. Can you see a mine where peace is the jewel peace is the jewel peace is the jewel? Written by: Polly |

Blood of Peace / Bledsung How come when they say "Man", they mean man, woman, child? How come when they say "Man", they mean "all people"? How come they show the blood of Christ, The blood of war, the blood from the sliced incision (surgery on t.v. every night)? How come they show the blood of sport? It's all the same as blood from violent video games (movies, they love to see Hollywood stars in a bloody fight). How come they drink the blood of life As red wine, buy the bloody meat from the butcher's vine? It's all accepted, all okay Except the blood they cannot say Except the blood you cannot say Except the blood you cannot speak Except that blood may sometimes leak. The only blood they cannot show Is the blood that freely, freely flows From ladies, sisters, women, girls, and me. No cut, no scrape, no knife, no gun, no wound. Well it flowed before hunting, it flowed before time. Our blood revealed the gift that is the human mind. Now its bloodshed for profit, they treat blood like gold. They've created a blood debt and our families are sold. They advertise, they televise the violence and the lies. The violence, the lies. And it's all accepted, all okay, Except the blood they cannot say Except the blood you cannot say Except the blood you cannot speak Except that blood may sometimes leak. The only blood they cannot show Is the blood that freely, freely flows From ladies, sisters, women, girls, and me.Its how we came to be, oh, menstrual-lunar synchrony. Its how we came to be, oh, Metaformic Theory. No cut, no scrape, no knife, no gun, no wound. Its how we came to be, oh, it's how we came to be. Its how we came to be, oh, it's how we came to be. ~ Polly

Dear Mr. President: I have been trying to compose a letter to you since the unfortunate events of September 11. Life, jobs, family, and fears have kept me from writing this until now. I feel that although the attacks of 911 were horrific, it gave our country a golden opportunity to make significant changes that would affect our standing in the world for the better. Needless to say, your administration and our congress chose to take another path - the path of war and destruction. As we now see (and many of us have seen all along), the path that was taken has only lead to more death, devastation the loss of respect for our country in all areas and lands of the world. It has left America weak, exposed and nearly bankrupt.America was once a great nation. We were leaders in manufacturing, electronics, agriculture and other areas that are to numerous to mention. Now at the beginning of the 21st century, we are bogged down in a tribal war we cannot win, have lost most of our mfg. to foreign interests and have completely lost the middle class. We use up to 70% of the worlds energy and yet give nothing back. We are arrogant, wasteful, lazy and spend all of our days consuming the bounty of the planet, which is dying. It is said that “you get what you give”. I know that this is true, and yet the example that our warring, consuming, greedy nation is sending is one of totalitarianism, fear and force. Our wonderful American middle class was ready and willing to do anything that our leaders told them to do, after the events of 911, to make our country and the world a safer place. It would have been the perfect time to introduce legislation that reduced our energy consumption, rewarded people who came up with alternative energy policies to make this country a leader in the efforts to conserve and to begin to try to reverse the effects of environmental devastation, in place of that, we have only contributed more to the problem, and have proven that the terrorists were right in attacking the cancer that western culture has become. The billions of dollars spent on fighting the “war on terror” has made us the terrorists. The money could have been better spent waging a world war on poverty, disease, and ignorance. It’s time to change course and become the country that gives back to the world that which has been so freely given. To stop abusing the planet and ourselves. Sincerely DR

| I try to always live my life from a place
of love and gratitude, so I found your contest very challenging. I started to write a letter to George W. Bush by thanking him for setting aside Hawaii as a nature preserve, inspiring so many funny bumper stickers over the last 6 years, and making everyone around him feel a little smarter. It started to sound sarcastic and mean, and that is not who I want to be. What would Carl Rogers and Marshall Rosenberg say? I decided instead to keep to the positive and enter a previous letter that I wrote to President Jimmy Carter and gave to him with a copy of your DVD "I Know I am not Alone". That night when I went to bed, I prayed for a sign that peace can happen, and woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the Peace Party I have been dreaming of. I got my sign the next day when I went to my mailbox and there was a thank you card from President Carter. Thank you Great Spirit for reminding me that peace can happen! I wrote another letter to President Carter requesting a response to the questions that I asked him and am anxious to hear back. I know that my favorite President is out of the country the first week of February and I may not get a reply before the contest deadline. My sincere wish is that I can stand on stage at your concert and ask everyone there to help me make this Peace Party happen. Included with this letter are a couple gifts for you; a copy of Palestine, Peace not Apartheid signed by Pres. Carter and a copy of The Alphabet Tree by Leo Lionni. Mr. Lionni talks about sending a message of peace to the president. I would like to make this the theme of the peace party. We can offer for purchase postcards for people to write their thoughts to George W. Bush and mail them from the event. It reminds me of the movie miracle on 34th Street when they dumped out the mail bag of letters to Santa to prove that he is real. If they can get the court to believe in Santa Claus, we can get the folks in Washington to believe in peace. Peace, Love, and Light to you. Kitty |

Dear Mr. President, I hardly know where to start, or even why I am writing this. You have proven time and time again to the world that you are a person who is set in his ways and will not change, no matter what advice you get. You seem to think that God is telling you to do the things that you do. Did you ever think that maybe God is trying to reveal things to you by the reality of your surroundings and the advice of your countrymen? When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you have to do is stop digging. Our soldiers are nothing but sitting ducks in a civil war that has nothing to do with 9-11. The Iraqi people do not want a surge. The American people do not want a surge. The Iraq study group does not want a surge. Your generals do not want a surge. The soldiers do not want to be there anymore. You seem to think that history will be a kind judge of your misadventures and incompetence. You have two more years to make some sort of legacy. Without major changes to your approach in Iraq you are doomed to go down in history as the worst president ever. God help you, Robert Austin, TX

Mr. "so-called" President- Have you taken a look at your country? You hang Saddam for killing thousands of innocents, yet what are you doing to our families every day? Our brave men and women are out there fighting your battle over money. Meanwhile, the rest of your country is struggling to make it day to day. I have a college degree, but can I find a job? Hell no! Our economy is shit! I live in a small midwest town. Used to be anyone could come here to live and have a nice life. I brought my family here so my daughter could grow up with a little bit of peace and values. Now we live with nothing. Granted, we do have a roof over our head(for now) and food to eat. But what happened to the American Dream??? White picket fences and 2.5 kids????? That's all they are now is dreams. You, George W. Bush, have taken this country on a spiral of terror, hate, and greed. I pray that you are able to live with your lies and lust for money. Because, I sir, cannot sleep at night because I am afraid. Afraid that I won't have a home for my child, afraid that I will not have food to feed her, afraid that my "freedom" comes at a cost. Because, Mr. "President" are we really free? Are we truly, in all senses of the word, FREE??? I don't believe so. Maybe you should stop worrying about spending billions of dollars helping the rest of the damn world and start giving a shit about the country you are supposed to preside over. Wake up and smell the stench of oil. Greed, that is what we can look forward to for our children, a country of hate and greed. Thank you so much for destroying everything I ever believed in about the office of the President. Go back to Texas and your filth. Give the rest of the country a break and maybe a chance to actually live life and love it, instead of living in fear. Not so sincerely, Chasity Mother, Wife, and Disgusted Citizen of the USA

Ode to the Ostrich by Paul Dear Mr. President, I am your neighbour to the north And much like this strangled earth I am beleaguered by what you bring forth So in a minute, in a moment, if you lend me your ear I will provide some advice To which I hope you adhere It will start with respect for all life and all living From dolphins to Darfur For a 'shit' is worth giving It will then continue with respect for all people With everyone standing together With those under YOUR steeple I then might mention a thing or two about oil And reveal that the key to our future Is actually in the health of our soil I might then say a little something 'bout money And that the new currency will be compassion And freedom from American hegemony I might then utter a word about 0.7% And the state of the third world For our part, we should repent There might also be something 'bout the need for introspection Instead of masking the truth Under lies and deception But then I might yell, and throw my hands in a rage For I will fear you are not listening As you think the world is your stage And as my voice raises, the next will ignite As you choose not to listen We will continue to fight And as we Yell Fire!, from across our great lands The least we will ask for Is to take your fucking head out of the sand For the fate of the Ostrich will be meagre at best When it chooses to deny the truth And ignore the voices of the rest Paul

Dear Mr. President, I hope this letter finds you well. The history of the United States is, as I'm sure you know, full of instances where the United States has made tragic mistakes based on faulty information mixed with the desire to right perceived wrongs. Instances, such as the American Revolution, in which the United States (to be) fought the British Empire over taxes. Moving forward to a fight with an unconventional enemy much like terrorists, the Barbary Pirates in 1801. The United States fought a four year long war rather than pay "protection money". I question how necessary this was. The United States fought the Civil War on the premise that the North wanted to free slaves (which was partly true), but when African Americans were emancipated by Lincoln, he only did so for the ones in the South, which threw coal on the fire. Next we had the Spanish American War, a war fought over an act of terrorism by Spain aboard the USS Maine. Unfortunately, it turns out that the destruction of the Maine was not an act of Spain, but rather a shipboard accident. But that didn't stop the powers that be from exercising their power to start a war, even if they knew the truth or didn't seek to find any answers but the ones they wanted. Prior to World War II, the United States maintained neutrality in the face of the European and Pacific Wars, in the meantime, Roosevelt sent ships near German waters that were not marked, hoping Germany would sink them so he could start a war. The United States knew full well that Japan an aggressive state and that the United States had recently wronged them. At the time of the attack, General Marshall was doing what any official on high alert would be doing, riding his horse. Let's not even go into Korea or Vietnam. Mr. President, I like to think that you are a good man. A good man who is smart enough to see the mistakes that have been made in our past and learn from them. While I have no doubt that there are time when wars need to be fought, so as to defend our country or an ally. I question seriously whether or not you or the current administration have looked back at history an noted the parallels to many of these conflicts which began innocently with information that people thought credible. Though they began that way, they continued because there were people who wanted to do what they considered the right thing, so disinformation was justified as the means to an end. Mr. President, this was, the war in Iraq, needs to end sooner rather than later. Oh, and quit fucking over the poor and the middle class. Thank you, Michael

Dear Mr.. President and Delegates, I am a born and raised US citizen of the Great USA.. Yet I was born into poverty and pain, frustration and struggle for life every day. Aren't we supposed to be a free country? Aren't we supposed to be the Icons of the "Melting Pot"? Shouldn't the REAL WAR BE PEACE INFLICTED on our street and in our homes, here?? Why can't I afford as a hard working single parent to go to a the doctor when I need too or take my children when they need too? When you get it for free through my high taxes payments. Yet I live paycheck to paycheck. Why did my grandmother go to the local market and beg for chickens feet to make a soup to feed us? Wehn she worked 12 hours a day on her feet at the Oakland Post Office. Why do I have to choose a race on my applications (Melting Pot)? When my race is Human. Don't get me wrong I know there are harder places to live in this world. Let me get you understand what you don't know or see. The things you have never grown up around. I grew up in the rough streets of Oakland California. I don't mean I grew up in Oakland I mean the rough streets when I say this. This to me is war torn of government to the races. My mother was a Heroine addicted prostitute and this is how I came to be in this world, through prositution. Although this was how I got on this earth this is not how I will leave it. I love this world and all the diversity in it. So what if a man is homeless ~ Why should I be afraid ~~sometimes he has a story to tell that I can learn from. Have you ever sat with a homeless man/woman and really heard their story? There is nowhere for a child in the situation above to go to for guidance. Because fundint is not there. So I went on experiencing that life I knew. I was smart I learned as much as podssible and yet I had to fight everyday. The only WAR that should ever be fought on this earth is your own personal WAR of "HUMAN REVOLUTION" YOUR OWN "HUMAN REVOLUTION" To find such peace in ourselves that it produces out to the rest of the world. It is the natural nature of Cause and Effect ~ You find yourself through your constant Human revolution of self and then through Cause and Effect it produces outward to the world around you. You create that same cause of Personal Revolution to those and it spreads them to the people around them. I know I am close to finding this peace and it takes time ~ Killing does not cause PEACE~~ Killing through Cause and Effect creates more Killing. I beg lets start out own Human Revolution~~ Starting with yourself Mr.. President and through that personal battle you can create your peace around you and come to revolution of what our cause is on the earth... Then we can work on our youth ~ If we don't all they will know is drugs and killing. Remember the 60's Vietnam the murders the dugs? Well that is the wolrd my Mom was in and that's how I got here and I see happening to our youth again.... Lets spend the time, energy, lives and fuinds on what is important ~ Feeding our hungry, housing our homeless, pushing our youth toward thier own peace, giving the right to medical to all, not just the Presidernt and his family. I beg you to fight a war within yourself and lets to teach our nation and the rest of the world to do the same... This is the real War worth investing in.. OUR CHILDREN AND OUR HUMAN REVOLUTION FOR PEACE!! Best Regards María

Dear Mr President I’m a non-affiliated non-resident of your country all I try to be is at peace with the world and those around me but all this talk of arms and war and hate baits the bad part of my brain and makes me mad, sad and a tad too angry. We can’t take your money for oil and invasion of other peoples soil for too much longer, we know we’re stronger without these acts these pacts made behind closed doors that you try and blind us too the way you try and woo us is just a whole lot of fuzz that we see right through if only you truly knew those who suffer from your hate disguised as love the iron fist in the velvet glove rules only those without the tools to detect your deception our reception receives all and our fall is the only call to arms that needs to be made for those that hear beyond the staid mass message laid down for far too long so you best listen to our simple song for our loving throng is growing all the time towards the light and your plight along with many of those you claim to lead is in dire need of a new seed planted a new deed granted for all the living souls beyond the polls, beyond the power, beyond the greed, beyond the flower is the glower of a spirit ever strong ever knowing ever wise ever loving living long so lay down all your weapons for we have taken one the media is ours now and we’ve only just begun. I see your looking worried and this comes as no surprise best tell your friends in darkness of the threat of this sunrise another age is dawning and your allies feel its swell within the brest of every man there’s a heaven there’s a hell and it is for our making, a choice of every one it’s not what’s for the taking it’s not what’s to be won the battle and the war are ways of warriors of past I know because I am one, a warrior too fast too quick for all your sluggish lies too limber for your choking ties but of a way of violent cries from distant times from dreams it flies the call of all the dead betrayed the call of all the slain if this is still the progress then we’re on the wrong damn train All I can hope for all of us is peaceful loving dreams all I can do for all of us is recite older themes in different ways, in different days in newer arts I see the face of you a president a president like me Best Wishes, Kind Regards, Peace Always David
